Alicia “AJ” Nequatewa - Hopi Woman Painting on Parfleche Earrings
This piece is created by artisan Alicia “AJ” Nequatewa.
My name is Alicia “AJ” Nequatewa, I am from the Hopi And Navajo Nations in Arizona. I come from the village of Hotevilla, on Third Mesa. My clans are Salt Clan (Navajo) and Badger/Butterfly (Hopi). The designs found in my work are inspired by my two Tribal Nations with a flare of my own. I think there should be NO limits to what is considered Native American Art, all art made by Native Americans is Indigenous art.
